So, I checked out The Little Gym of Houston with my little munchkin, and it was a mix of fun and, well, some questionable baby exercise moves. We jumped into the Babies class, meant for tiny ones from 4 months to the crawling stage. They promised to fast-track the whole walking and crawling thing, but honestly, I’m not in a rush for my baby to start sprinting around 😅.
We rolled—front, back, and side—did wheelbarrows to beef up those baby biceps, threw in some standing exercises, and even had a core workout where we sat our babes on a ball and played move-around. Oh, and there was singing involved, because why not?
Now, the big question: Is this necessary? Probably not. Babies tend to figure out the walking and crawling gig on their own schedule. But, hey, it wasn’t all bad. I got to share laughs with another mom friend, and that’s worth something, right?
As for a round two, here’s the snag—they’re all about memberships. Twice a week for baby classes seems a bit much for my liking, and they’re pushing this $110/month deal for unlimited classes. Seems more like a setup for parents with older kids who can handle that kind of commitment. I’m more of a spontaneous drop-in kinda parent.
So, in a nutshell, The Little Gym was a decent time with some laughs and potential perks, but the membership thing might be a deal-breaker for those of us just trying to wing this whole parenting thing without a rigid schedule.
Tiffs verdict: 6/10 (for babies)
